The offerings from the Asus booth at Computex this year just keeps getting weirder and weirder. Either Asus has a thing for removable screens or the Taiwan-based company is simply making the most out of its highly successful Transformer tablet design. They’ve utilized it in the Asus Tablet 600, Asus Tablet 810, and Asus Transformer Book, and now, they’ve also implemented it on a full all-in-one desktop PC in the form of the Asus Transformer AiO. It actually looks normal from a distance. It’s only when you walk right up to it and decide to pull off its 18.4-inch LED-backlit LCD screen that you realize, “Hey, this is… strangely awesome.”
The Asus Transformer AiO does indeed have a detachable screen that measures 18.4-inches diagonally. It comes equipped with an Intel Ivy Bridge processor and runs Windows 8 by default. But the minute you pull out its display, it transforms into a humungous Android 4.0 ICS tablet that actually works while you carry it around. It is said that you can control your Windows 8 desktop experience remotely while using the Transformer AiO in Android tablet mode. Little is known about Transformer AiO in terms of detailed specs right now, so I’ll keep you posted and give an update once the information becomes available from Asus.
